So the winner of the 2007 Man Booker prize was The Gathering by Anne Enright.
This book doesn't seem to be available here at all. Wonder how quickly it will get published here now that it has been declared the winner!
I will have to keep a look out next time I am in the bookstore!
Well it just came out here in the U.S. in September - so be patient. My favorite comment about the book is that it's a "bleak and depressing Irish family drama." Um, is there any other kind? LOL
ReplyDeleteIt's being 'urgently catalogued' at my local library, and the reservations are already heavy. I think I'm about 11th on the queue. Interesting to see how long it'll be before my number comes up!
