For the full rules, check out the Feelin Chunky blog. Here is an abbreviated version:
*A chunkster is 450 pages or more of ADULT literature (fiction or nonfiction) Don't complain folks, I read all thousands of pages of the Twilight series and they were good, but not a challenge. A chunkster should be a challenge.
*If you read large type books your book will need to be 525 pages or more I asked around and the average LT book is 10-15% longer or more so I think that was a fair estimate.
*No Audio books in the chunkster. It just doesn't seem right. Words on paper for this one folks.
* You may start any time after signing up. You must complete your reads before or on Nov 15th.
*Short Stories and Essay collections will not be counted.
There are a couple of different levels to sign up for. I will be signing up for the Mor-book-ly Obese challenge.
This is for the truly out of control chunkster. For this level of challenge you must commit to 6 or more chunksters OR three tomes of 750 pages or more. You know you want to.....go on and give in to your cravings.
LOL marg. Well I guess I could sign up for the same one your doing. I read several a year that are over 750 pages long.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with that!
ReplyDeleteI'm doing this one too. I can't wait to see what you end up reading. I've got 13 books on my list.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to take part in this challenge. I have two books that are 1000 pages each, that I need to read this year. But being a slowish reader I won't. :(
ReplyDeleteMay be another time....
Good luck with the challenge Marg.
You are crazy! :) This is one challenge I am passing on this year--I read very few books that are over 400 pages...short attention span maybe? I will look forward to reading about your progress on this!

Kim
Kim, I read lots of big books anyway, so by joining in this challenge I am just making it more formal!
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm glad you are joining this one too. :-) I selected a different option, but it will be fun to encourage each other as we work towards completing all of our challenges. :-)
