Play nicely this time Richard!
You may remember that this time last year I was in the beginning and most intense phase of my appreciation of anything Richard Armitage.
I can not tell you how many times I watched the DVDs of North and South, and the Vicar of Dibley, as well as the first season of Robin Hood in January and February of last year.
Apparently my DVD player shared my appreciation of all things Richard because when I tried to watch a DVD that didn't have RA in it, the player no longer worked, even though it was only 6 months old. It never worked again. Even placing one of the aforementioned discs in it did not encourage it to work.
Luckily we had another DVD player in the house so when I needed to get my fix I had to go into the other room and watch them in there.
Last night I decided enough was enough, so I went and bought a new DVD player for the room where I have my computer so that once again, I can watch DVDs in the back room. It's only a tiny little gizmo, and it was el cheapo, but it does what it needs to do. Tonight I am watching my first DVD in it - the first disc of North and South.
Please Richard, don't break this DVD player! You know that even when I stray and watch something else, I will always come back to you!

The heat must have melted the innards...
ReplyDeleteI LOOOOOOVED Richard Armitage in North and South. I envy you your North and South DVDs. I really didn't fancy him in Robin Hood though and I didn't realise he was in Vicar of Dibley. I wonder if they'll be showing N&S on TV anytime soon...
ReplyDeleteLOL! This is hilarious.
ReplyDeleteMarg, you must stay true to Richard! Don't you see, he cannot bear your fickle heart. For the love of God, please don't stray anymore!
He's a hottie, that's for sure! I rewound the end of N&S over and over. He's sexy when he scowls, and cute when he smiles! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI really need to watch all of those DVDs you mentioned... One of these days!
ReplyDeleteLOL! I once wore out a DVD player from too much Colin Firth :).
ReplyDeleteWhere have I been? I have never heard of him!
ReplyDelete*smiles*
Kim
Where have you been Kim? You need to watch the BBC adapataton of North and South!
ReplyDeleteKatherine, I am glad that I am not the only one who acts so obsessively.
Kailana, yes you do!
Hattie, that last scene is one of my favourite scenes ever! So beautiful.
Carolyn Jean, surely I can watch something else occasionally. It won't be another period drama - completely different I promise!
Michelle, he was in the Christmas special of The Vicar of Dibley. You can see the whole think on Youtube. The first instalment can be found here
Lynn, must have done!
Oh how I love North and South! Now you've done it....I have a yen to watch it again. Trip to the video store may be in order (too impatient for Netflix, lol).
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the show!
I'll pray that your new DVD player doesn't overdose on Richard. =)
ReplyDeleteAlso, I wanted to let you know that I've awarded your blog the Premio Dardos Award. Thanks for blogging.

Hi Marg! Someone posted an excellent review of N&S a while back (maybe it was you) and I decided to go ahead and order it from Chapters online and the DVD just came in the mail today. And then I saw your great post...must be fate telling me glad that I bought it.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to meet Richard!
You'll be even gladder when you actually watch it - make sure you go all the way to the end!
ReplyDeleteROTFL!!!! The POWER that man has!!! I watched N&S again on Christmas Eve with a friend from work who had never heard of it before. She too thought I meant the US series with Patrick Swayze. She was totally captured by John Thornton aka Richard Armitage and his loveliness too and now is planning a whole theme night at her place wherein I shall bring my Robin Hood DVD's and we will eat English type food and drinks etc.
ReplyDeleteKim!! How could you have not even heard of this???? There was the whole North and South Crusade - of which Marg became a Noble Member of The Crusaders!!
Here's the start of our Marg's journey

Marg, I hope the you were able to spend some time with Richard!
ReplyDeleteBTW, I've left you a little something over at my blog. You can see it here!
I thought you would understand Kristie!
ReplyDeleteActonbell, without getting too graphic, he could ravish me!
Leya, thanks so much for the award!
He is lovely, isn't he? If I was Maid Marian, I'd say "to heck with Robin!"
ReplyDeleteRobin who?
ReplyDeleteThis reminded me that I keep saying I'm going to get Robin Hood and the Vicar of Dibley on DVD or rent it or something.
ReplyDeleteWas it you or Kristie that posted a YouTube video of the Vicar last year?
