My Read-a-thon books

I thought that I had my list of books for the read-a-thon set in my mind, but then I went to the library to pick up several more books, and I am now having to rethink! This list is therefore my list of possible reads, and may yet be subject to change:

Emma by Kaoru Mori
Tales from Outer Suburbia by Shaun Tan
Coraline by Neil Gaiman
Cross Stitch by Diana Gabaldon
Smooth Talking Stranger by Lisa Kleypas
The Thief by Megan Whalen Turner
The Dreaming Place by Charles de Lint

I know a lot of people are suggesting reading shorter books and so it may be a bit of a surprise to see Cross Stitch in the list, but I know that Diana Gabaldon's books are books that I find very difficult to put down and where I get lost in the words quite easily. Sounds like a perfect book for long term reading spells to me!

  1. Last time, one of my favourite books was a 400+ pager, so I think it's all up to the individual. :)

  3. Emma and Coraline are perfect read-a-thon choices. The others I haven't read yet, but they sound great too.

  4. Coraline is perfect for a quick *break* book. I am thinking I don't have enough shorter books. My struggle is: finish 1 or 2 longer books for a challenge, or read a some shorter ones that have been sitting around here that I really want to read but won't get crossed off any challenge list--I am a list crosser-offer, can you tell? ;)
Have fun tomorrow-I plan to visit all my favorite bloggers throughout the day to see if they are posting updates. I know my eyes will need breaks from the printed page!
Glad you have gotten around the wall you posted about last time around and I hope you find inspiration throughout the read-a-thon!

  6. I'm thrilled you're doing the read-a-thon. This is my first time. I haven't read any of the books on your list so I've got no input there.

  8. What an interesting list of books! I'm big fan of Diana Gabaldon books and I do too, get lost in the words and enter the world of Jamie and Claire life :)

I'm not participating on Read A Thon but I want to wish you luck with your reading. I probably check your website again cause am curious to see how well you are doing and to cheer you on! :)
