Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Claire from The Captive Reader and Marg from The Adventures of an Intrepid Reader that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library. If you’d like to participate, just write up your post-feel free to steal the button-and link it using the Mr. Linky any time during the week. And of course check out what other participants are getting from their libraries!
It may not look like it from the sheer number of books I picked up from the library today, but I have been very controlled this week and haven't broken my own rules about requesting books from the library. Whilst previous requests are coming in thick and fast I am expecting that it will be a bit slower in the next few weeks...maybe!
Here's my loot for this week:
My One and Only by Kristan Higgins - I am not sure how many books I have left on Higgins backlist, but I think there is only a couple left including this one.
Lost and Found by Marilyn Higgins - A few of my Goodreads friends have been reading the Eden series by Marilyn Higgins. Unfortunately, the library system in this state only has one book available in the series and it isn't the first, so I thought I would try this one instead.
The Diplomat's Wife by Pam Jenoff - This is the follow up book to Kommandant's Girl which I read and reviewed recently.
Rocks in the Belly by Jon Bauer - This is my next book club read.
Cold Comfort Farm by Stella Gibbons - I can't remember why I added this book to my request list, but I know that I have been waiting for it for ages!
Guards! Guards! by Terry Pratchett - With the recent release of Snuff, I really need to go back and read the first guards book!
Movida: Spanish Culinary Adventures by Frank Camorra - I actually borrowed this book earlier this year. I enjoyed looking at it but it was hard to cook anything when I had no idea how much longer before I had a working oven. I thought I would have another look at it!
Do you have loot to share? Add your link to Mr Linky below:
Cold Comfort Farm! I have been wanting to read that for the longest time. The film version is terrific. :)
ReplyDeleteI tried to read Cold Comfort Farm years ago and couldn't get into it. Perhaps it might be time to try again. Enjoy your loot.
ReplyDeleteI adore Cold Comfort Farm! It is one of my favourite comfort reads - the book I always used to turn to when I had to stay home sick from school. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteAll of these sound wonderful, and I am particularly intrigued by Rocks in the Belly. I must go check that one out!
ReplyDeleteYour loot looks great! This week's loot is so outrageous that I'm too shocked at myself to post it! ;-) Happy reading!
