Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Claire from The Captive Reader and Marg from The Adventures of an Intrepid Reader that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library. If you’d like to participate, just write up your post-feel free to steal the button-and link it using the Mr. Linky any time during the week. And of course check out what other participants are getting from their libraries!
It's a kind of a unusual library loot for me this week. Not because there are only three books, although that is less than normal, and not because they are all romance novels, although I normally get a mix of genres most week. The unusual thing is that I have already read two of them, and the third was my first ebook borrowing from this library! I had joined a couple of libraries who would lend to people who lived outside their library but my local library now has downloadable ebooks and audiobooks.
In some ways the process is a little strange because the ebooks that are borrowed don't actually show on the list of items that you have out from the library which means that it could be quite easy to forget about if you are looking to see what is due soon. I suspect it won't be the last time I borrow ebooks this way so I guess it is just a matter of getting used to it.
Here's what I got:
Inside Out by Lauren Dane - This is the third book in the Brown Siblings series by Lauren Dane. I have read all three of these in the last 6 weeks or so and I was very disappointed to see that the library didn't have the next book, but I have put in a request so hopefully they will get it in due course.
Playing to Win by Jaci Burton - The latest book in the Play-by-Play series. The library has quite a few other books by Burton that are not in this series but I am not sure if I will borrow them or not.
Flirting with Intent by Kelly Hunter/A Moment on the Lips by Kate Hardy - This is the book that I borrowed from the new ebook lending service, mainly for the Kelly Hunter, but I might read the other one too depending on how things go.
Clair has Mr Linky this week, so head on over to her blog to share your Library Loot links.
Enjoy your loot!
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda!
DeleteLots of handsome honeys on those covers this week! Are any of those the ones you will be reading for the readathon? Hope you enjoy them!
ReplyDeleteYou know, I haven't actually even thought about whether I am doing readathon or not.
DeleteA very romantic trio! Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteMust be craving the romance at the moment. Goodness knows I don't get any in real life! lol
DeleteI thought that last one was titled "Flirting with the Internet" at first and I was SO EXCITED.
ReplyDeleteThat would be a fun title for a romance about an online relationship!
DeleteNot being able to keep track of the ebooks you have out through the library site seems like a pretty big design flaw! Still, as you say, I'm sure you'll get used to keeping track of them some other way. Enjoy your loot!
ReplyDeleteI usually keep track via a spreadsheet anyway, but sometimes I get a bit out of sync so it is easy to log into the library catalogue to see what is due next. Makes it harder when you can't actually see a book on the list and it is the next one due!
