Whilst I have been struggling on the blogging front over the last couple of months, I was taking some comfort that my reading was still going strongly. May was the month where that no longer the case. So what have I been doing instead of reading and blogging? Playing stupid Facebook games! After months of playing only Songpop, this month I got totally addicted to playing Candy Crush and Farmhouse Heroes Saga. I also played another game for a few weeks but I have since stopped that one!Now I realise that 14 books for a month is a pretty respectable total, but over the last 6 months or so I have been reading more than 20 a month so this is quite a significant reduction for me.

14 Books is definitely a good number - I'm like what am I doing that I barely got in two last month! ha. Hope you'll read lots of great books in June!

ReplyDelete've gotten addicted to quite a few games on my phone. Luckily, it seems to just be a phase where I'll play non-stop for a month or two and then go completely off it.
fb games are incredible time wasters but they do offer a bit of R and R from stress to get your mind numb so you can read things w/out being distracted afterwards...haha
ReplyDelete14 books is not to be sneezed at. I have Mateship with Birds on hold at the Library as well as the Gabaldon one also. The Birds one sounds fascinating but if it's a story about Kookaburras why do they have a Magpie on the cover?
You should read a book titled, The Facebook Diet. It's right up your alley. :-)

Considering that you still read 2-3x more books in a month than I do, I don't think 14 books can qualify as a slump. :) As for facebook games, I do find they're a nice way to unwind, but I only let myself play one at a time--otherwise I would have no more time left! If I install a new one, I make myself stop playing the old one.
ReplyDeleteHey, maybe you just needed a bit of time out - don't be so hard on yourself! (I love computer games but dare not start any more FB ones - apart from the game of scrabble I have with my sister who lives overseas - as I know I'd never stop!)
ReplyDeleteThat's still an awesome total - I only average 8-10! I do understand about Candy Crush though, it is very addictive! I have disabled purchases to stop me from playing - but not helping much! Glad you enjoyed The Rosie Project and Kitchen!

ReplyDeleteYou're on a reading roll despite the Facebook games! Last might my husband had me see Rabbit-Proof Fence, the 2002 Aussie film which I never saw. Wow it's powerful. I'll look for the book. cheers
