Since we went into social isolation, I have watched a number of shows including a few of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musicals and some of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra shows as well.
I posted a while ago now about my visit to the Grand Ole Opry last year which was an amazing night. I have also been enjoying the Opry performances every week! And it's become a can't miss event each weekend.
One of the great treats during this period have been the #croonersessions which Gary Barlow (lead singer of Take That) has organised. Every day he does a duet with another artist and some of them have been absolutely amazing. There are now around 40 of these performances available on Youtube and you could do worse than spend an hour or so enjoying these. Gary has announced that he won't be doing these every day any more but I am hopeful that there will be the occasional performance still as they are very uplifting and enjoyable.
It was tough to choose a favourite because there were so many fun videos but I ended up choosing this one with features Gary Barlow singing an Elton John song with Lulu.

I am contemplating doing something similar on my blog next year as my A-Z theme with a different letter each fortnight, but we will see!
What songs would you have included in your list? Are you expanding your musical horizons during this period of social isolation?
Oh this looks fun!
ReplyDeleteIt has been fun! Now I just have to figure out how to translate it to blogging and decide if I am going to start it this year or wait until next year.
DeleteI am just not a music person. I rarely listen and can't sing! My Dad used to listen to music all the time and his mother was very musical too. I missed out. Would be fun though to make your list.
ReplyDeleteIt has definitely been fun.
DeleteI love listening to all kinds of music and typically I try to listen to music when I'm working on my crafty projects.
ReplyDeleteIt's great as a background to doing something else Iliana.
