Welcome to this week's edition of Top Ten Tuesday which is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week is a free choice so I have decided to share the Top Ten Books That Were Reviewed for the 2021 Historical Fiction Reading Challenge!! I should add a disclaimer to say that I have only done the statistics up to the end of October, so there is still time for the final top ten to be shaped!
As at the end of October we had 570 different titles, 653 different reviews which featured 458 reviews. I will be sharing more statistics once we get to the end of the year.
In the mean time, here are the Top Ten titles reviewed as part of the challenge so far:
Band of Sisters by Lauren Willig
The Rose Code by Kate Quinn
The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah
Isabelle and Alexander by Rebecca Anderson
Sisters of the Resistance by Christine Wells
The Children's Blizzard by Melanie Benjamin
The Henna Artist by Alka Joshi
The Merchant and the Rogue by Sarah M Eden
The Paris Library by Janet Skeslien Charles
The Shape of Darkness by Laura Purcell

ReplyDeleteThe Four Winds is on my one day list too!
DeleteI read Four Winds and Paris Library and I had planned to read Children's Blizzard...somehow I never got around to it. Thanks for sharing the most reviewed books. I can think of a lot of bloggers who would enjoy this challenge. Great way to share good titles.
ReplyDeleteI have heard lots of good things about Paris Library. I hope to get to.
DeleteI reviewed The Rose Code and The Paris Library for the challenge this year, but haven't read any of the others. It's interesting to see what everyone else has been reading!
ReplyDeleteI loved The Rose Code Helen
DeleteIt doesn't surprise me that Four Winds is one since Kristin Hannah is so popular these days.
ReplyDeleteShe is, isn't she Deanna!

ReplyDeleteMe too Cindy!
DeleteHow interesting! I love historical fiction, so it's weird that I've only read two of these books. I'm glad to know I still have so many good ones to go. Oh, and I'm definitely in for the challenge again next year.
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT!
So many great options out there susan!
DeleteI've read five of them! Band of Sisters, The Rose Code, The Children's Blizzard, Sisters of the Resistance, and The Paris Library.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good effort Davida!
DeleteI have Band of Sisters and The Rose Code on my TBR. I tried The Paris Library, and ended up DNF it.

Oh, interesting that you DNF'd the Paris Library.
DeleteSo interesting! I liked but did not love Band of Sisters and I own The Rose Code but because of lending it to my sister in NY I have not read it yet. Several of those others are on my TBR. My favorite historical fiction of 2021 was definitely A Single Thread by Tracy Chevalier.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to continuing the challenge in 2022! I don't think it made me read more historical fiction but I definitely enjoyed sharing and reading other recs.
The challenge is the same for me CLM.
