Welcome to this month's edition of Six Degrees of Separation, which is a monthly meme hosted by Kate from Books Are My Favourite and Best. The idea is to start with a specific book and make a series of links from one book to the next using whatever link you can find and see where you end up after six links. The starting point for this month is Our Wives Under the Sea by Julia Armfield. What a creepy cover!!
I actually decided on my books the day after last month's post but I am only writing it now. Let's hope I can remember what the links were!
The Winter Sea by Susanna Kearsley - You know that I never miss an opportunity to slip a Kearsley book into a Six Degrees post, and this was especially true this month as a recently saw a new cover for it.
Island of Sea Women by Lisa See - Once again I am linking through the word Sea. I am pretty sure that I have used that word to link these two books before, but really this book is a stepping stone to.....
Island of Missing Trees by Elif Shafak - I read this book a couple of weeks ago and I loved it! I am now recommending it to anyone who will listen, including all of you!
10 Minutes, 38 Seconds in a Strange World by Elif Shafak - I currently have this book out of the library and I am hoping that I love it as much as I loved Island of Missing Trees.
Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell by Susanna Clarke - The link here is the word strange.

Mr Rosenblum's List by Natasha Solomons - My final link this month is through the word Mr. I read this book and really enjoyed it many, many years ago. Through writing this post I realised that Solomons is still writing and has a new book out called I, Mona Lisa.
Phew, it was only that last link that I had to wonder what I was thinking when I chose the books.

DeleteGood links here. I really want to read something by Lisa See (eventually)! I know all about having the books for the next month. I've actually written up mine for May, and scheduled it for publication on my blog. Mind you, it is always a bit of a surprise when it comes out, because I often forget what I put on the chain between when I write it and when it gets published!

DeleteI loved Island of Sea Women and included it in one of my previous chains. Elif Safak is a great writer, and I've yet to read The Island of Missing Trees, so thanks for the reminder. I've given up on Jonathan Strange several times, but Susannah Kearsley is someone I don't know at all, so it seems as if you're keen I should put that right!

DeleteThe Winter Sea is my favorite of Kearsley's books. I was so pleased, years ago when it first came out, that she quoted from my review on her blog!
