I'm reading....
After finishing reading The Sweetheart Locket by Jen Gilroy last week, I am still in WWII France, this time reading The Lost Sister of Fifth Avenue by Ella Carey. I have read a number of Ella Carey books over the last few years, and I am really enjoying this loosely connected series which is called the Daughters of New York series. I will have a review of this book later in the week.
I'm watching....
On Saturday afternoon I stumbled across a three part documentary series about the history of aviation in Australia called Australia Come Fly with Me, hosted by Justine Clarke. The series was really interesting, not only talking aviation history but also how that reflected social changes as well as the fashion. Throughout the series the host dressed in many of the uniforms over the years, some of which were very glamorous, others very much of their times!
Straight after that I started watching a series called Birth of Empire: The East India Company hosted by British historian, Dan Snow.
This afternoon I took a couple hours off and watched a French movie called Delicious, about the first ever restaurant. I am planning to talk about this in a future Weekend Cooking post.
Life
Last week was end of financial year, which is always a crazy time for me! This year was no exceptions and so I worked a lot of hours last week, and then I pretty much crashed for the weekend. Next weekend is a bit busier.
I did manage to have a busy blogging week last week which is somewhat surprising!
Posts from the last week
Lots going on in your world on every front!

ReplyDeleteI've been reading a lot, but that never translates into blogging a lot! I put up a It's Monday, What Are You Reading post (late, again) and barely got around to visit any other blogs to see what everyone else was reading. I'm hoping to get back to Weekend Cooking again, but each week comes and goes so fast! I've seen the Ella Carey books in the library, I think. I'll have to see which ones we have!
