I am thinking that I want to do a couple of reading challenges in 2024 in addition to the Historical Fiction Reading Challenge which I am hosting.
I am playing it a bit safe with the Bookish Books Reading Challenge hosted at Bloggin' Bout Books because, well...who doesn't love books about books!
The levels are
Toe in the Door: 1-10 books read
Picking and Perusing: 11-20 books read
Lost in the Stacks: 21-30 books read
Living in the Library: 30+ books read
I am choosing Picking and Perusing!
I am contemplating at least one more challenge. Or maybe two. We'll see. Anyone have a challenge that they love participating in?
I'm a huge fan of books-about-books. This is a challenge I'd like, too.
ReplyDeleteAre you going to join Deb?
DeleteYay! I'm so glad you're joining in, Marg. It's a very laidback challenge because that's just how I roll :) I'm doing a bunch of others in 2024. I posted about them on my blog earlier this month for TTT: http://www.blogginboutbooks.com/2023/12/top-ten-tuesday-challenging-2024.html
ReplyDeleteI saw that Susan. i think I am going to join the Books in Translation challenge but I don't think I want to do those ones with 52 prompts. Feels like too much pressure
DeleteI also like books about books but I've read a few recently that felt so exploitive - it's as if these publishers (and I used to be in publishing sales, so I can imagine the conversations all too well) said to themselves, "Hey, I can get Constance and dozens like her to read this very one dimensional book if I throw in a young woman inheriting a bookshop!" But I guess it works as I comment in my review of The Little Wartime Library.
ReplyDeleteI hear what you are saying. It's a successful formula so why mess with it right?
DeleteI've read 173 books this year so i'm hoping for more than that in 2024!
ReplyDeleteThat's a very good reading year Sherry!!
DeleteI used to read that many but these days I am pretty happy with around 1 book a week. I think I am on track for 70 or so this year.
